Whether you hire MDI to design build a data center, or a colocation cage inside an existing data center, or to provide management services for your existing facilities, the process is the same. It is this five step, Define, Design, Model, Construct, and Commission process that will allow MDI to deliver a successful project to you.

When deploying data centers, one size definitely does not fit all. The most important phase of deploying a new data center is to provide a clear definition of the end product. You absolutely need to know how you will use your DC. The definition of the end product will determine both the construction schedule as well as the Cap Ex and Op Ex budgets for years to come. A data center that is over built is a waste of immediate Cap Ex resources, will operate inefficiently, and become a continuing drain on Op Ex resources. A data center that is under built will result in a drain on future Cap Ex which could be deployed elsewhere in your organization. In this phase you will define: use, size, power density, required percentage uptime, redundancy, and budget.
