Whether you hire MDI to design build a data center, or a colocation cage inside an existing data center, or to provide management services for your existing facilities, the process is the same. It is this five step, Define, Design, Model, Construct, and Commission process that will allow MDI to deliver a successful project to you.

 

Once the product has been defined, MDI’s Architectural, Structural and MEP team determine the systems which fit both performance specifications and budget for the individual location(s). HVAC is one of the systems which varies widely depending on geographic location. Our overall design strategy is modular deployment. Where we are a big proponent of the one size does not fit all, we do believe that data centers are built most efficiently in standard sized building blocks. The modular concept also lends itself well to phased deployment scenarios. Along with Architecture and MEP, this is the point in the process where we start to merge the schedule to the design, long lead equipment procurement, permit process, financing, etc.
