Colocation Programming & Deployment
When deploying equipment in existing colocation facilities, the most important phase of a single or multi-site deployment is to provide a clear definition of the end product. You must have a clear programming layout for the functionality of the finished space. The definition of the end product will determine both the construction schedule as well as the Op Ex budget for years to come. In this phase you will define: use, size, power density, required percentage uptime, redundancy, and budget. MDI highly recommends that this phase be completed and well documented prior to engaging Data Center Operators in the RFP process. Once the programming layout has been completed, the site selection process can begin, making sure that you find a facility that is conducive to your needs and not the other way around.
