This policy explains how MDI Access (“MDI Access,” “we,” “us”) handles information on www.mdiaccess.com (the “site”). It covers the site only. It does not describe how we handle information in the course of client engagements, which is governed by our agreements with those clients.
When you use the contact form on our Contact page, we receive the details you enter: your name, email address, phone number (optional), a subject, whether you would like a consultation, and your message. If you email or call us, we receive whatever you choose to share. Form submissions are received through our website host, Netlify, which stores them on our behalf and passes them to us.
Like most websites, the infrastructure that serves this site may log technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you request and the date and time of each request. We use this information to keep the site running, secure it and troubleshoot problems.
We use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google, to understand how visitors find and use the site so we can improve it. Google Analytics is turned off until you accept it. The first time you visit, a banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. Until you choose Accept, Google Analytics does not load and no analytics cookies are set. If you choose Decline, it stays off.
If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and sends information about your visit to Google, such as the pages you view, how you arrived at the site, your approximate location, and your device and browser type. Google’s documentation describes two cookies set by default: _ga, used to distinguish users, and _ga_<container-id>, used to persist session state. Each has a default lifetime of two years.
We also store your cookie choice in your browser’s local storage (under the name mdi_cookie_consent) so we do not ask you again on every page. This item stays on your device and is not used for tracking.
You can change your mind at any time by choosing Cookie Settings in the footer of any page. If you decline after previously accepting, we turn analytics off and remove the Google Analytics cookies we can reach from this site. You can also block cookies in your browser settings, or install Google’s Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. For how Google handles data from sites that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Some content on the site is loaded from other companies and is not controlled by the cookie banner. Our pages request typefaces from Google Fonts, and our Contact page displays an embedded Google Map of our office. When your browser loads this content, Google receives technical information such as your IP address and browser details, and may set cookies, under Google’s Privacy Policy. Links to other websites, such as our LinkedIn page, take you to services with their own privacy practices.
We share information with service providers that help us run the site and handle your messages, including our website host and form-handling provider, our email provider, and Google (for analytics, if you accept). We may also disclose information when required by law or legal process, or in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of our business.
We keep inquiries for as long as needed to respond to you and maintain ordinary business records, and longer where the law requires. Analytics data is retained for the period configured in our Google Analytics account.
You can accept or decline analytics cookies using the banner and change that choice through Cookie Settings. You can ask us what information we hold about you from the site, ask us to correct or delete it, or ask us to stop contacting you, by writing to the address below. Depending on where you live, the law may give you additional rights over your personal information, and we will respond to requests as applicable law requires.
We use reasonable measures to protect the information we receive through the site. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The site is intended for business audiences and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
MDI Access is based in the United States, and the services we use may process information in the United States and other countries. If you visit from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and handled in places whose data protection laws differ from yours.
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed. If we change how we use cookies, we will ask for your choice again where required.
